The Roundtable of Business Leaders (RBL) has instituted a Intern Scholarship Mentoring Program for exceptional students in South Hampton Roads who are pursuing 4-year degree at local colleges or universities. The program will select up to five (5) students and will award each student a $1,000 scholarship upon successful completion of the program. The program requirements are outlined below.
- Open to all in-state or out-of-state rising juniors and seniors who are currently enrolled in any accredited College or University in the five (5) South Hampton Roads Cities of Virginia (Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake or Suffolk)
- Overall 2.5 GPA
- Completed Application
- Provide college transcript (official preferred)
- 3 Recommendation Letters (professor, employer, personal reference)
- U.S. Citizen
Terms of Scholarship
Student must successfully complete all of the following:
- Scholarship application
- Application interview
- (1) 200 hour internship with RBL member business during the spring semester. The student must also be in compliance with the Intern Scholarship Mentoring Program Handbook for the duration of each internship.
$1,000 scholarship will be awarded to up to five (5) chosen applicants. Roundtable of Business Leaders (RBL) will release the award check to the recipients’ chosen education institution upon successful completion of the program.

About the Roundtable of Business Leaders (RBL):
The RBL is a non-profit business organization serving South Hampton Roads. Our members consist of business owners, politicians, educational leaders and community leaders throughout Hampton Roads. RBL members come together from all over the Hampton Roads region to help improve their own businesses while also helping to improve the community. The scholarship program is the highlight of RBL’s efforts to give back to the community.
